Each December, uniformed officers are afforded the privilege of escorting local children Christmas shopping, easing the financial burden on families across the county. Over the course of the past five years, approximately one-hundred and fifteen (115) area children have been assisted by the ‘Santa Cops For Kids’ Program. With each passing year, the number of children assisted continues to rise as a subsequent result of support from the Nodaway County community. Throughout the course of the year, Nodaway County law enforcement officers conduct various fundraising efforts to support the program. From a law enforcement sponsored kickball tournament to the ‘Putting for Presents Golf Tournament’ at Mozingo Lake Golf Course, the fundraising campaign continues to be a year-round effort by local law enforcement.
